Abstract:
Stress has a detrimental effect on our behavior and health, new research has confirmed the effect of probiotics on reducing stress. This study aimed to investigate the effects of probiotics on chronic stress during pregnancy in first-generation offspring in mice. In this experimental study, 24 adult female mice were purchased and divided into 3 groups. Which their children included positive control, negative control and probiotic (PBR) groups. The rats were born to mothers who were not stressed during pregnancy, were stressed with water gavage, and were stressed with probiotic gavage, respectively. Elevated plus maze tests were performed in these groups. Serum corticosterone and ACTH levels were measured, then hippocampal tissue in the rats was examined using hematoxylin and eosin staining. Behavioral tests showed a reduction in stress in the positive control group, which was also confirmed by hormonal testing. Tissue tests also showed a positive effect of probiotics on brain tissue. It seems that probiotics reduce cellular inflammation by acting as antioxidants and by absorbing a variety of vitamins and neurotransmitter precursors, they play an important role in reducing stress in first-generation offspring.
